Bahahahha! While I have also heard that Bethea is on the way to Indiana, let's not get stupid and start claiming Big Ten titles! Let's look at what he has done in his tenure at THE ohio state...not too darn much!

getting ready to rule the Big Ten!!! cant stop the enevitable.
Greene would jump ship in a heartbeat to get back the the SEC. The Big 10 is fine and all and a great conference, but it is not track and field in the SEC. Not even a little. And do you really thing Purdue is on their way to NCAA dominance? Wow...

RE: @ IU
2 volunteers moving up to full time; Cory Martin is their throws coach.
Hiring 2 head coaches away from other programs.
This from the Helmer's mouth in Jacksonville this weekend.

Why not? Its not like the big ten is some little operation. Anyway, I guess we will see if he goes to tenn, if they have even put him as a favorite, or if he is even talking to them
big name SEC assistant coach is considered very strongly
Does Cory Martin have any experience recruiting coaching or more importantly recruiting?
Of course he doesn't. It is a panic hire. But everyone knows how it works in track & field coaching (or most anywhere else for that matter): it's not what you know, but who you know.

OSU head to IU.
First, Purdue will not contend for even a Big 10 Championship in the next 5 years!
Secondly, why did IU administrators actually think that Helmer would produce Conference championships in Track and Field ??? (maybe an occasional XC title )
Was Purdue not 3rd this year? That is close to winning, is it not? I believe this Green's second year.
They were almost dead last for 4 years before that.
IU DID win a Big Ten title in 2012. You forgot?

A panic hire? They should have kept Jones then?
Purdue wont finish first in five yrs?
lol 5 yr?, as stated they were third in the big ten this yr. I'd say they are already a front runner for next season
Does letsrun have a media department that does investigative journalism?
Do people call these coaches or SID and ask about them interviewing for vacancies, or get statements from them? If not it's alll rumor isnt it?
What are the sources here?
Sure it was a panic hire. Have no idea if they should have kept Jones or not. But hiring a guy with zero coaching experience and zero recruiting experience just because he has been hanging around proves they were in a big rush and didn't want to take the time to do it right.

Jim Stintzi let go as Wisconsin's head women's coach. That was never going to work long term with an overall Director and a separate women's head coach. They're going to hire another assistant to go along with Dave Astrauskis, Nate Davis, Kareem Jackson and Gavin Kennedy. The article doesn't say what event area. Those four assistants have everything covered.
South Florida Head???
I heard that about South Florida too.... 0_o
