Unless there were some major philosophical differences, Phipps would be an idiot not to keep Mark MacDonald from the current WSU staff. Would be shocked if Angela Whyte doesn't come with him. Any word on what athletes are leaving WSU & what athletes would follow Phipps from Idaho?

Whyte will 100% come with him, since she is a volunteer coach. Julie will definitely come with him, (bye coach Farwell). I don't know what athletes Phipps has returning next year, but i do know that Hanna Keiser is one of them, and he would not let her stay at Idaho in a million years. Phipps would be wise to clean the entire staff out. Coach Mac's athletes do not respect him at all, and he lets them walk all over him. The other coaches let their athletes get into fights when they go to Albuquerque, and fail to report it to anyone and cover up for each other. WSU current staff is a joke, I cant wait for all of them to be let go. I also can wait for the student athletes to get dismissed as well. Coach Phipps has a lot of cleaning to do.

Phipps looks like a very good hire to me. It's not just about how fast his distance kids have run. Get that through your head. For a director position like this it's about can he build a full and complete team and effectively administrate it. It is clear he did a great job of that at Idaho and with more resources/ bigger school if he takes the same approach he will have equal success.

Vigilante had coached plenty of super fast guys when he got to virginia, how did that work out?

Director's jobs are about WAY more than writing a workout and holding watch.

Does anyone know anything about the DAVIDSON job? I heard they have 0 scholarships.

They probably have a pool of Financial Aid allocated to Track.

So then their Financial Aid is based on need.

We need a hurdler; we need a thrower, etc. !!!

Sorry, but your comment is not factual. UCLA has at least three people on scholarship. 800 meter runner Hartle is on scholarship on the men's side. And Pettway and LaMar are on scholarship on the women's side. So, its just not true that Braden has zero scholarships to work with at UCLA.

Say what you want about Eric Peterson, but at least the guy coached some All Americans and did something for that UCLA program.

Get this through YOUR head. He didn't produce as a track guy until the teams that were better than his left for the Mountain West. Sure a few cross titles here and there, but lets be honest, the WAC was gutted and his group was just the best of what was left. He was getting stomped by Boise State and Utah State in cross and track on a routine basis.

P.S. Producing fast runners is also about WAY more than writing workouts and holding a watch.

Are we sure Charleston Southern is hiring? Did assistants leave for other jobs? Have some people in NCAA this week.

In the search for a college position, if you wait for the posting, you will be 3-4 weeks behind. The announcement will come out the 5th week. Try to keep up.

Any news on Georgia Southern? The posting was not up for very long. Do they have someone in mind? Are they retaining either of the assistants, or will the new HC get to bring in his own?

Seems to me GSU can be a highly competitive DI mid-major, but they need someone to get the ball rolling.

Pat McCurry at College of Idaho has had a lot of success and should be an option at University of Idaho

CoI is excellent distance wise. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Pat got a look.

I don't think the L&C coach will be interested unless things have already been decided as I saw where they are looking for a full time coach. Unless his position is being filled, looks like other things are already in motion at L&C.

Carthage (d3) in kenosha wi is looking for a full time assistant. Ad says sprint and jumps.
