The admin has failed us from the beginning. Why do you think Li turned down the job? They aren't investing money into the track program! Why not just hire within? Who knows what they are thinking. Bill Moos only knows football I guess.

About time.
I saw that Head Coach is TBD, but TTU's HR site didn't have a posting for track & field.
What happened to Cox? Let go?

Any word on Throws positions opening, that aren't GA spots?
I saw that Dickinson State in North Dakota is looking for a Head Coach. That would be a peach of a job...hahaha
WSU Job? What's up? Who's the guy? Gotta be some rumors floating out there by now...
Surely someone on here know's Phipps (Idaho Head) and has some info if he has a shot at wsu job or not?
Stanford posting has been taken down. Looks like Ferris did the position.

Coach James Li? That sucks if true. This hiring has taken a long time and I'm bizarre to me. I thought we would have hired a coach before the Pac-12 meet, which begins this weekend (multi events) and every other event the following weekend. I'll be at the Pac-12 meet.
GO COUGS!!!
It would be pretty awkward for a coach to accept a job immediately before the biggest two meets of the year - conference championships and nationals - and announce that to his/her current athletes. It does not make sense to do that. The announcement will likely be made after conference championship meets are complete and maybe after nationals. Coaches do respect their current athletes.
It's a fact that Li turned down the job. Who's the coach?
The Washington State situation just goes to reinforce (again) that track coaches are disrespected yearly. And the athletes are also. Unless, the other two candidates are not what they wanted there is no administrative reason for not announcing the new hire. We know that athletes on the WSU are transferring out due to their uncertainty, so the team could be gutted. Not sure why the WSU AD can't make a decision. Reflects poorly on the sport.

You obviously don't get our sport. Read the above poster who does get it. There is a t ime and a place to make the announcement, that time is always after the championship season.
If athletes are abandoning ship, it is because they don't like the program regardless of the coach and it would likely not matter if they hired _________ fill in blank of any coach in the business.
The new coach should be Rodney Zuyderwyk hands down!! No comparison! He is a Coug Alum and an elite coach with great personality! The other guy has no business being mentioned in same sentence... Bizarre.
The person this affects the most is Phipps at IDAHO. Not only is WSU hurting their recruiting during this process, but they are ruining IDAHO's recruiting, by making Phipps wait for their decision. Moos needs to take his head out of his ass and do his job.

You have lost all credibility. To say Phipps has no business being considered, let alone mentioned in the same sentence is not only ignorant it is obtuse. Sure Zuyderwyk has ran some quality programs at Purdue, but to discredit what Phipps has done at IDAHO with a shred of the budget WSU has. Despite not having the funds to higher experienced coaches, he has still dominated the WAC over the last decade. Just think what this guy can do with a budget, and a PAC-12 school under his belt. Not to mention WSU is a bottom feeder, the only way to go is up.
