You better check yourself buddy. Craig Virgin is quite possibly the greatest us distance runner we have ever seen. Would have won gold at the Olympics except the us boycotted.

Only care about XC.
Where was the Georgia job posted? Never saw it.

No idea who is the new coach at SIU???
Matt Sparks will do fine at Notre Dame.
Two sources said that he was offered and has accepted the position. Sparks grew up in Noblesville, went to IU, was an assistant at Ohio State and has been coaching track and x-country at SIU the past 12 years.

Look... in a couple of years it ain't gonna matter. With the power five conferences making their own rules, they will take the money from non revenue sports and give the money to the stud basketball and football players. Women's basketball will get the table scraps left over.
Then they will all adopt Women Rowing to balance Title IX issues. So all the Power 5 non-revenue sports (track and field) will be axed just like swimming and diving back in the days.
My guess is they do not make much money being in Atlanta and not a major school so they do their time and get out for better pay or better opportunity.

Men's track might be a victim but I don't believe women's track will ever go away. It is the #1 participation sport for minority women. The outcry would be large if all of a sudden minority females no longer hand equal access to college athletics.
Division III looks better all the time.
Very hard shoes to step into here, I heard they have been turned down by a couple people already.

Jamie Nieto official to USC. I think he will do a great job. Great athlete and he's doing great things with his Jamie Nieto show to promote track and field.
