Interviews were conducted two weeks ago. Must be having a hard time getting someone to commit ? Or admin dragging feet getting contract prepared.
Any ideas on people who interviewed // being considered?

I only know of one. Good coach, would be an excellent hire to get recruiting turned around and the distance program off the bottom of the conference.
Out of respect I'll keep his name quite for now.

Anybody can file a lawsuit. Actually winning (rather than the typical "university reaches settlement" with squeeky wheel to make the bad press stop and go away) is a different story.

the coaching business is run by A.D.s who have no idea about track.
If you are a good interviewer you get jobs. I've seen that. Sometimes it works, sometimes you get an Obama who can talk, but can't lead.
I hope this post starts a whole controversy because I mentioned Obama.
Also I get all news from fox
Does anyone have an updated list of which jobs are filled and which ones are still open?
According to the Internet articles on Google he harassed his best thrower and took her scholarship away after she told his boss. The schools lawyer tried to get it dismissed but the judge ruled it was good enough to continue as of May. If your just anybody filing a lawsuit the judge would probably dismiss your case.
For the throws its still all over… Illinois State, Nebraska, Hawaii, William and Mary , Miami of Ohio, Riverside Ca, texas state and im sure there are plenty more. Some of those might have offers out now though….

You have to know someone if you want to get a job in this industry. Networking is very important in this business. Just being a good coach is not good enough. Being a great coach do not always mean championships. Being a great coach also mean developing and mentoring athletes. You can be a great coach by developing a 11.00 100m runner to 10.20 runner or a 4:50 miler to a 4:00 miler. Being a great coach also means when a athlete looses a parent, the athlete does not feel like he or she has no one. Yet the athlete turns to his or her coach as a father/mother figure. You usually get this type of coaching from lower divisions or mid majors. Its rare when you can get this type of coach from the BCS level because of the unrealistic pressure to win. I had to pleasure to run for a Coach who had SEC, NCAA, US, and World Champions in Joe Walker at Ole Miss. Coach Walker was a great coach and even a better person.
I believe that type of coaching is dying off because of the unrealistic expectations is conferences. Yet I am a very good young coach stuck in the dying mold, who is now faced with "networking" to further his career.
Real advice?

Hey coach, I appreciate you keeping up to date info on here. It has shown to be very helpful. I have a question for you tho. I am a young coach and I'm looking for coaching opportunity. I have 3 years of D1 experience coaching the jumps and throws. My question is do you know of any recent coaching openings. Also if you had any words of wisdom for new coaches what would they be?
Thanks for your time coach and hopefully we can get in contact.
I am Coach Clinton Fletcher,
I will not hide behind a phony screen name. Just like baseball, basketball, and/or table tennis...stats speak for themselves. Multiple World Champions, Olympic Champion, NCAA Champions, SEC Champions, plus he is a good person. He invented Tebowing because all he do is "win win win". Okay let me quit swinging.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THE COACHES THAT ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A JOB.
can we just keep this about current openings and rumored replacements? Every freaking thread turns into a whine fest about people complaining they can't get jobs because they don't have the network.
SO NETWORK AND STOP COMPLAINING.
Winners find a way, losers make excuses...now lets move along back to openings.

I hear Morehead State is looking for Distance although it says Track and XC. They don't have a track.
