Any word on Duke or FSU?

Coach Glavash coached you to a personal best indoors at SECs. You Jamol James are a complete joke! Funny how you are going to come on here and bash Coach Glavash... You are terrible and our team is better with you gone. I only feel bad for the team that you are joining because of the cancer that you will bring. GO VOLS!
ps-everyone is glad you are gone.
Thank you for being a voice of reason. I could see the Purdue job going to either Adrian, or the Arkansas guy who is applying. As you mentioned, Greene is not keen or all the knowledgeable on distances, and he realizes that the easiest points to pick up in the Big Ten are from the 800 down. In my opinion this rules out a guy like Gibby, who is solidly a distance, and is enough of a veteran that he will stick to his guns. Greene is most likely looking for a figure head who can do an acceptable job coaching, but won't get in the way of his vision for the program.
Anyone heard anything about either position at gardner webb?
Gardner Webb filled their coaching position today. Im really pissed off because they hired Jose, my gardener. But they did get the best damn gardener in all of Akron.
Williams will announce their hire for assistant coach soon.
You have to know someone if you want to get a job in this industry. Networking is very important in this business. Just being a good coach is not good enough. Being a great coach do not always mean championships. Being a great coach also mean developing and mentoring athletes. You can be a great coach by developing a 11.00 100m runner to 10.20 runner or a 4:50 miler to a 4:00 miler. Being a great coach also means when a athlete looses a parent, the athlete does not feel like he or she has no one. Yet the athlete turns to his or her coach as a father/mother figure. You usually get this type of coaching from lower divisions or mid majors. Its rare when you can get this type of coach from the BCS level because of the unrealistic pressure to win. I had to pleasure to run for a Coach who had SEC, NCAA, US, and World Champions in Joe Walker at Ole Miss. Coach Walker was a great coach and even a better person.
I believe that type of coaching is dying off because of the unrealistic expectations is conferences. Yet I am a very good young coach stuck in the dying mold, who is now faced with "networking" to further his career.
Real advice?
It seems to me that your struggle is staying true to who you are??? You can still make it in this profession as a "dying bread". That is why some coaches are leaving the major conferences for mid majors. You can get similar pay and you can actually coach. There are mid majors that win their conference, have all-americans, and finish in the top 25.
COLUMBIA? Manhattan? Temple?
any word on these?
Thanks
They hired Marc Smalls
Garnder Webb hired both the jumps/multis and throws already?

The new Idaho distance coach has been very busy lately. New changes in his life recently. And its all good. In the next week, the school will announce this great hire.

I second that. Hard to network when you have guys who literally keep a case of chapstick because they kiss soo much ass and you have head coaches that want that. I will be stuck at the mid major level before I kiss any coach's behind.

Looks like Notre Dame pulled Alan Turner back away from the Ole Miss job he had supposed taken.

does anyone dare take the job at ole miss?
What is wrong with the ole miss job?

The head coach?
What about him?
Who ( in their right mine) would want to live and work in the most racist, backwards State in the U.S.?
I'm also curious to know if there are any updates for the Columbia job?
This message board gets old! This is supposed to be the topic of coaching openings, yet some of you love to get on here and rant and rave about who you think is a good coach, who you don't, who would be good where, and why someone does not deserve this job or that! Let it rest people! Talk about the openings and not your opinions! If you want to debate one another on coaching talent and such, send each other texts or get on another messenger! It gets old!
Now how about openings and which ones have not been filled yet like Duke?
Mr. Byde at west Catholic middle school.
