Didn't she also leave Alberto, who is the BEST COACH EVER! Hopping programs hoping to find success. No shame in that.
Sounds like a reality show headline...
Good move. She's a marathon runner. Schumacher is 0-for-5 at turning track studs into marathon runners.
It was one thing to leave Salazar for another coach in town. But wow, she must really be unhappy if she's willing to move the family out of Portland all together. And to think how happy she seemed last year being partners with Shalane. Who will she train with though?? Simpson, Coburn, and Kipp are all Mid D...

December. Contract not renewed. Time to move on. EOS.
Real reason: Colt needs him some altitude trainin'.
I was hoping she would move to Michigan and train with Desiree.
I wish her the best and hope she runs a couple of decent marathons before retirement.
However she must realize that Father Time is undefeated.
Save the all caps thread titles for Dyestat, Mr. Middle School.
probably a smart move - sounds like she was killing herself to keep up with shalane, resulting in injury and staleness.
A new start in colorado is probably a great idea. Not sure who she can run with tho - maybe some men. And Jenny B for some things. oh man.
Who did she run with while she trained under Salazar?
She will improve under Mark Wetmore. He is a better coach than Salazar and Schumacher.

Amy Yoder Begley. When she left or was not renewed, Goucher moved to Schu's group to run with Shalane and the girl from Iowa.
We should have known that changes were ahead when Kara started showing up at those club XC meets in Portlamd this fall.
Well , well , well , as the circle turns , looking for the end of rainbow , magic one more time , the secret formula… this will be a new challenge for Wetmore , he has a great college program , a posse of elites and now an aging has been with an unemployed husband living off his wife's winnings and shrinking shoe contract. Boulder is a great town , great running city , but it does not have the support mechanisms that Nike campus and Nike itself offer and this is a factor it seems for an often injured Kara. Maybe its the shoes ( injury problems ) , kinda hard to wear another brand when your running on the nike campus…
As a side note , most of the better distance women in Boulder are with Hudson's training group.
Wish her the best and one more big fast marathon !
Will go well with Coburn's
Jerry simply has too many people that are national class.
With a couple women, he gets the best guys and should really push them to have a medal emerge as opposed to being content making national teams and becoming aged-road whores.
Salazar would cut half the group and really push the other half AND keep them healthy so a couple are real threats on the world stage.
Wetmore does great because he has very few athletes and they're not training against each other.
For $2.5 million if anyone wants to live like a Goucher they can relocate to Portland.
Imagine between, Goucher, Simpson, Coburn and Kipp that represents 7 Olympic appearances. Powerful stuff. Look forward to seeing that group training under the Boulder Flatirons!!!

Eventually. However, I seem to recall that Carlos Lopes managed to hold him off rather nicely when he was 37/38-years-old.
