Sarah Baxter's pre-race 'dance' does not help the perception of distance runners.
OP, you mad a girl can whoop your silly butt in any distance and laugh while doing it?
Haha I liked to do that dance in high school too, not necessarily on the line before the race. She can do whatever she wants though. What a BOSS! That race was great to watch, I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at Oregon.
I did that spasm routine in HS and still do it to warm up. Not only is it fun, it helps to kill nervous energy, try it sometime.

Or a convulsion. Ya got it down, if ya appear to be in pain.
Since she normally goes out too fast and fades a bit, maybe she'd be better off with less of a warmup.
Do her teammates do the same warm-up or aren't they looking for so much attention? You'd think she gets enough attention for being crazy fast, maybe not.

And at the beginning. (same stretch)
There is also about 75-100m of pavement just before the downhill that immediately precedes the course's toughest, longest hill, about 1.5-1.75 miles into the race.
