Lets go.
Cortland State have a powerful returner in Stephan Linton and malique. They will most likely continue to dominate.
*has
who cares anymore? Pat Fannon is gone.
Oneonta is going to dominate just as much as Cortland. Oneonta loses their kingpin, Bernstein, and keep literally everyone else. Cortland loses Banks, Fannon, and a couple field event guys but return Hopkins. Last year, Oneonta won the indoor team title over Cortland by 6.5pts. At Indoor ECACs, Cortland won and Oneonta took 3rd. Outdoors, going in to the final event, the two were tied. Lo and behold, Cortland won the 4x4 and Oneonta was second, resulting in Cortland as the team champions by 2pts. At Outdoor ECACs, Oneonta was 2nd and Cortland was 4th. The Bottom Line: These are easily the top 2 teams in the SUNYAC and arguably the top 2 teams in the ECAC. If anyone thinks one of these teams is far better than the other, they're stupid.
Okay here is my 2 cents before everything starts. Oneonta clearly has an advantage in sprints, but in indoor thats only two races. the 400 is pretty much split between the two. Cortland will dominate distance though. its obvious that cross proved Cortland has improved and oneonta didn't live up to their hype. Hopkins and marcantonio will take the 5k no problem, and if Amengual is health ?? idk what happened but i heard bad things. he is easily one of the best mile/3000 guys in SUNYAC if not the country. I know remmy won the 3000 last year but wasn't he on hormones or something and just disappeared after blowing his load at SUNYACS last year. Plus with the 3000 being a national event this year I imagine everyone will being trying there hand on it vs doing the 5k or mile. Im not looking at the results now but im 100% sure bernstein scored liked 20-30 points which is a good amount where as banks and fannon only added up to that much. This is going to come down to field where cortland always shows up with long and triple jumpers and pole vaulters but not much else. Also remember Cortland rarely doubles their runners vs oneonta who typically doubles/ triples their guys. The 800 oneonta is pretty deep but having 5-6 guys that can go 1:57 wont help you win a race that will be won around 1:55. The only proven 800 guy on cortland is amengual though but it seems he is moving away from 800s. If the oneonta 800 guys step it up it will be another battle for the title. I thought Cortland had the better team last year even though they lost SUNYACS, but thats debatable. It will be close but Cortland takes in by a few points because their distance team with take the bulk of point mile and up.
Entries for the Cornell meet today/tomorrow
Cortland's strengths will be their distance and jumping crews. We all know how good their distance guys are (with the addition of THop, and the subtraction of Patty Ice), but their jumps guys may be better than they have ever been. They brought in a 24' LJer, and they still have Granger and Green, both mid 23' on any given day. They should get a few of the top spots in the PV as well, if Teneyck can replicate his past performances.
Oneonta's strengths will be their sprint crew, though they won't have their star (Seany-boy), they have a bunch of young guns waiting for their chances to excel. They will score the majority of their points in sprints, relays, and hurdles. Though the big question is, how will the team do now that they have a new coach calling the shots?
Geneseo will have their typical scorers in all of the distance events, high jump, and hurdles. If they have another Wenley Louis type athlete this year, that may be enough to propel them to a SUNYAC title.
Buff state has sprinters, that's really all I know. Does Jummy Campbell still have eligibility? It seems like he has runs 2 races a year for the past 20 years, either way, he's probably their best sprinter is he can still compete. They should have some distance guys back that were injured during XC, that will score them some points.
Fredonia will score lots of points in Pole Vault, and a few more in hurdles. They always get guys with cool names to be really good PVers.
Plattsburgh will have good multi-athletes, that has always seemed to be their strong suit. If they called Mike Heymann up would he instantly be their best athlete?
Brockport has started to emerge as a decent sprint program, they will continue that trend this year.
Oswego: same as above, don't know enough about them to say much else!
Did I get everyone?
My predictions for indoor SUNYAC placing:
1-Oneonta
2-Cortland
3-Geneseo
4-Fredonia
5-Buff State
6-Brockport
7-Oswego
8-Plattsburgh
Why does Fredonia get so much Pole Vault love? They got it in the rank SUNY schools thread too. They scored 3 points in indoor and 6 in outdoor.
I have them as a pole vault school because in the past they've had Nat'l champs in the PV, which means they have a good PV coach.
Looking over their roster it looks like the only have a couple PV athletes on the team, so I may have been wrong in my prediction.
How do you put Fredonia in front of Buff State and Brockport?
They both outscored Fredonia indoors last year by over 30 points. And name one pole vaulter Fredonia has. The only teams that have good pole vaulters are Brockport and Cortland.
Those are just my predictions, I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination! Feel free to make your own predictions, I was just trying to liven up the thread without rustling too many jimmies

You have no idea how many jimmies you've rustled. No idea.
None.
Here are the Cornell meet results:

If you scroll to the last pages you'll find putative non-D1 "scoring" though I have to wonder whether participating teams knew that it was a scoring meet. (I didn't and I was there! I don't recall ever hearing a team score announced.)
Anyway, the University of Toronto women made the females' team scoring kind of pointless as they blew everyone else away. On the men's side Cortland just edged Oneonta.
General note: I was not previously familiar with Oneonta at all and came away from the meet quite impressed. That's a good team/program.
First, why is Tom Haskins still around? He's been ruining people's fun as long as Mark Streb. And second, how did he qualify for ECAC's already... in the 3k!? Calling an early favorite for the SUNYAC mile title.
Running is happening in the near future.

Is Cody injured?

Can we all just appreciate that there is a "Kip Litton" entered in the men's 3k.
