First of all, that is NOT a tortoise. Tortoises are strictly land animals and not to be found in the Amazon river.
Second of all, it is also not a turtle. Turtles are semi-aquatic reptiles and you can clearly see in the picture that this individual is not in water.

I thought semi-aquatic meant that it's not always in the water. Isn't that the whole point of the word 'semi'?
