There is a disconnect between the falseness that is accepted here on Lets Run and the New Yorker, and the actual fact that it was pretty much a hoax, which is known to be the case by most everyone where Kip lives. After the story broke there were runners and a number of other people who confirmed that Kip could not have possibly cheated.
This is hilarious.
Kip could not possibly have cheated. His family were witnesses but mark singer didnt contact any of them (Even though Mark Singer tried to show up at Kip's dentist office only to be threatened to have the Davison Police called on him). His family gave him rides to Dairy Queen fast food along the course?
According to his friend Dan Baxley Kip surely had witnesses as there were 1000s of people in these races. Dan Baxley knows Kip is innocent of any wrongdoing in the matter.
Very easy for the amateur marathoner to do

People are still cheating in road races, and RDs are continuing to bury their heads in the sand, or worse, acknowledge the problem without really giving a damn.
Until the problem for which Kip is the poster boy is eliminated, the thread about him will be popular.
Hi, Kip!

Rojo- why don't you take 2 minutes to call Kip's wife & kids. They were at all of Kip's races and can confirm that it was not possible for Kip to have cheated at any races. Mark Singer failed to make this one simple call because, POOF his story would be gone! Don't be careless and unethical like Mr. Singer. Bring some truth to Let's Run.
Well that settles it.

I was at Rosies race, however, I can't confirm she didn't cheat.
Kip's family doesnt consider it cheating to bring a bike along or take a lift.
He's still our hero.
I don't believe kip cheated. Too many unanswered questions that Marc Singer failed to address.
My wife and I have known the Littons for over 30 years. Both Kip and Lisa have always exhibited the utmost integrity and ethics in every area of life. After an impeccable track record like that one does not just suddenly start risky behavior like cheating, especially when there was absolutely no motivation to do at all. I'd stake my Psychiatry degree on it.

I don't believe Kip cheated either, because a dentist wouldn't lie. For me, that says it all.
Actually what I'm holding out hope for is that Obama gives him a pardon before he leaves office. I think he has to wait because politically it's a tricky issue.

I know I'm breaking "rojo rule" but I've noticed as of late the Kip Litton thread has been popular. Why would it be popular years after the fact.
Can someone please tell me why it's been getting lots of hits. I have no desire to go wade through that thread.
So post a few posts here as to what is going on and then go back to the original thread. Many thanks.
Serously Rojo, why is there even one Kip Litton thread? Why are you allowing a thread that is about nothing but harrassing someone? Its time to kill it.
I have known Kip for 50 years, and he is a man of impeccable character. He has a sterling ethical reputation. He is a God-fearing, loving father who loves his twinkles. How dare you guys trash him for years?

This is hellarius!! We have another Kip Litton thread but this one is going to be a meta flame war waged between Kip himself under various guises and the entire letsrun community. Brilliant.
Who would win in an aquathlon Kip Litton or Dyana Nyad?
For those of you who think just because something is in print in a magazine its true or that the New Yorker has a rigorous fact checking process, you are dead wrong about both. Kip's friend purposely lied to Mark Singer about the food eating incident at his party that was mentioned in the article. The New Yorker printed this lie, OBVIOUSLY without verifying it!!!!!!
Mr. Singer omitted information from the article that would have cleared Kip. His wife and kids watched him run many of these races and have made it clear to everyone that it was not possible for him to have cheated. Furthermore, one of Kip's training partner's verified that Kip's race finish times were all well within Kip's capabilities.Yes, this fabricated tale would qualify as a witch hunt.

That 17:17 5K (5:34min/mile) at BAA 2010 5K in a blue windbreaker jacket and black sweats was amazing!
