I think this is it guys. For the last 19 months I've been injured and holding out hope I could recover and train normally again. I just don't think it's happening. I can barely get through simple 5 mile runs anymore without walking. Doctors say it's probably a pinched nerve. My leg cramps up and doesn't work. I might get an MRI but then what? Not sure what the point is when surgery would probably be foolhardy. Anyhow, my post-college dream was that I could run my whole life and maybe even compete in masters competitions, so I'm really bummed to be only 35 years old and pretty much done. You know, it's kind of scary because ultimately it really drives home the fact we are all mortal. We can't control the rate we deteriorate or when it happens. I'm strong otherwise but a bit scared about what will happen now without running. Wish me luck.
