As a coach who was at the meet I'll say this about the course\times-
Pace early on was very comfortable, too cozy for fast times. Whether the course was 5.2?? Sounds like a kid wore a gps watch and didn't account for 5 miles of bobbing and weaving through traffic with a slow pace to start.
It ok to forget about times in XC guys. Seriously.
