I'm more impressed with Geb, this guy was king in the 90's... Now some 20 years later still running 60 min half marathons. Amazing.

Me.
I'm impressed he finished a race. I thought the guy had finally retired. I haven't followed running too closely the last few years, but I can't recall seeing a finishing time for him in several years.
Geb age graded 101.66%
His age graded result was 58:15
The other two age graded 98.45 and 98.42.
Over twenty years since he won his first 10,000 meter world championship. Bekele is half-way there.

The problem with age grading is the older you go the weaker the records which over inflates good performances by older athletes.

Haile will fix that
Boss. Did tons of the work late too.

Last year he ran 2:08:17 in Tokyo and 27:20.39 in Hengelo. This year he ran 1:01:14 in Wien.

Geb is among the best 1/2 marathon - marathon guys in history. Bekele & Mo might get there someday, but for now [relative to age], they aren't close.
How many Americans can run what he ran today? I'm thinking Rupp, Ritz, and maybe True. But who else could run even within a minute of that?

LOL don't kid yourself. True would be a mile behind.

Any 27 minute 10k guy can run a 60:xx half.
More impressive that he was with them until a mile to go. He must have run a 5:00 final mile.

So, no Americans? Maybe Rupp can run 27:00 for a 10K? I don't know.

yes, he did all the work. If it weren't for that steep downhill (which I could tell took something out of his legs a bit), and if Bekele and Mo hadn't dropped him so suddenly, he might have run even 20 seconds faster (Haile does have a habit of: when dropped badly, he falls apart a bit. It made more sense this time, because it was clear he was in 3rd no matter what at that point. But my point is: take out that hill, have Mo and Bekele wait even later for their kick, and Geb runs 20 seconds faster. The guy is a God, seriously.
Haile continues to amaze. I hope he keeps his health and passion so we can see him for years to come. He truly loves the sport and all that it offers. Long live the king. Long live Haile.
Haile will keep crushing age group records until he is 130.
Haile could have gone much faster if he'd felt like it, that's the most impressive part. He jogged across the finish.
Probably the greatest master's performance in history. I'm sure there is some better age-graded runs, but to run 1 hour and knock 2 minutes off a WR - Incredible. Shows that while the old guys aren't likely to win against the younger crowd, they can still be in the thick of it. Geb's run would have won most half marathons out there.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
