what did Huddle end up with for a time?
Huddle 14:58 SB
Reilly 15:10 PB
Was Hasay DNF - that's what the results say on the Diamond League page?
Hasay got lapped with 700 to go and stopped at the end of that lap with one to go... hence DNF
The salad sauce isn't working any more after a loooong season!
How the hell did she even get into this race? She's not even remotely competitive internationally, it's embarrassing. Her PR is 90 seconds slower than defar and dibaba. She shouldn't be allowed to compete in races like this, we dont let 14:15 5K guys run in diamond league races with Mo Farah do we so why do we let her?
OK, i saw her cross the line, but with all the javelin and jumping, didn't see her get lapped.

She is the future of America's distance running, pal. DO NOT question what she does or is allowed to do. Okay?
Jordan appeared to be running at a pace that was roughly on par with her PR, wasn't even like she bombed like at NCAA regionals.
That race featured everything that I love about American distance running.

She has the same agent as Mo Farah. And Usain Bolt.
Chelsea Reily ran a great race and wasn't mentioned here. Hasay really rubs me the wrong way. She reminds of that high school kid who sprints out to front of every race and then slowly gets dropped off the back. She's not that good, and she's nothing special to look at. Let's accept it. And give credit where credit is due; to Reily.

That's great. Good for her. Then maybe she should run in races consistent with her PRs. Even in the US, she's pretty average as far as a pro runner goes

Don't be ignorant. Her PR may be 15:37, but her 10k pr is 31:46 which is much stronger a pr, and her 3k is 8:46 recently run. Hasay is clearly a bit burnt out at this point and should probably check out for the year and get ready for next year. That aside, don't kid yourself, her 5k pr at this point is irrelevant and obviously not indicative of her ability when she's run 8:46 and 31:46 and finished 12th at worlds in the 10k in what might have been more impressive than her 31:46. 15:05-15:15 is most likely in her wheelhouse, and any meet director can tell that from her prs that 15:37 is not even worth looking at as an indication of what she's capable of.
Are you guys forgetting what a long year this has been for Jordan? She just graduated college; was on the national champion cross country team and indoor team, struggled during her outdoor collegiate season, rallied back to place second at USAs, ran another race to hit the B standard and qualify for her first world champsionship team.
How many of you even thought she would make a world championship team?
I for one am interested to see what she can do next outdoor season, when she's been under Salazar for a full year. It will be interesting. I think her 10k will get better. (Not sure about 5k, but maybe. It's not like she's done many of those).
Jordan has had a great year but it's been a very long year and she's obviously cooked at this point. It's time to get into off-season recovery mode.
If she could get a trip to Zurich and run in a big time race I guess I can't blame her, but this far past any peak she needs to call it a season and not get injured by continuing to over-race.
Any updates? wrote:

Isn't that the whole point though? It's been a very long season for her and she had zero chance of being competitive in this race. She's not competitive in this field at her peak, much less so when she is clearly burned out and over raced

I agree with all of that. It was a questionable choice to try to run a top level 5000 at this point in her season. But if I was in her shoes and could get into a DL race in Zurich I can see how it would be tempting. But with a DNF you have to assume she's toast at this point and really needs to end her season even if her agent could get her into more races in Europe. It's not worth running herself into the ground.
