In my case, it's a 2010 Mercedes S430, and because I bought it with a 1.9% car loan instead of taking the money out of Pimco Total Return to pay cash, I have $13000 more in my account, and yes, the car is mine now. Could I afford to pay cash for a new Mercedes? Sure, but why would I want to when that would leave me with less money?
If you and Flagpole listened to Benjamin Graham or Peter Lynch and owned stocks, you could do that too.
You mean individual stocks, because I DO own stocks...they are just all in mutual funds.
No offense, but I wouldn't want to buy a Mercedes, and if someone gave me one, I would sell it as soon as possible.
