So equities are better than fixed income. Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Yes!
Of course as long as you are not invested in China, or until the next equity crash.
Uh, you’re talking to yourself.

Yes, but before your retort.
Timeline does matter.

therefore the assertion that someone who has invested overly conservatively the last several years will have no assets to sell is just wrong.
Where did I use the term "ASSETS"?
Just drop it. The K5/Igy troll is a sad little man who will never say that he was wrong. He lives in a sad little world full of pessimism and hate, and he’s trying to get you to join him there. Don’t play his game.

Holy Crap. I copy and paste the damn comment and you ask where the term assets got used?

When he does not specifically refer to what there will be very little of to sell, we are to understand he means equities and not assets. How we are supposed to understand he is referring to a specific type of asset and not to assets in general? Well, you'd have to go inside his mind for that answer.

Huh? And your foolish belief system is based on eating meals served up by those that sell you their wares. A belief system where there is never a time not to buy stocks. Fortunately I am far from your description and certainly not naive like yourself.

And then there are those that have a belief system where there is never a time to buy stock.
Definitely the right approach for those who believe a 60% drop is always right around the corner.
