I advised all my followers to sell.
Meanwhile AMZN hits a high on the news that Igy doesn’t like it.
Not true,. I did show that the business they are known for didn’t have positive cash flow. If you think that is a good thing buy.
Are you buying? No? Then you don’t like them.
You shouldn’t distort what people say. And if you read you would see I was right.

Seattle,
Making no recommendations. What I meant to say, the recent rise in yield of the 10 and 30 Year Treasury was having more influence on the market.
On the AMZN earnings report page 9 shows losses on international retail business wiped out the profit in the US. AWS took them to profitability. Actually has been that way for awhile. But investors are sold a story and they buy it for now. It is all in the numbers I provided if you want to look at the facts, or just buy the narrative.
Igy
“Just buy the narrative” sounds to me as if you don’t like it. Are you saying you do like them?
Whatever buddy, play your games with someone else. Better choice, grow up.

Very mature.
Since you lack the spine to go on record, I did it for you. Your welcome.
Funny. Lack of spine accusation by the multiple handle guy.

Good one, Igy! LOL. Grab onto one detail, clutch it like the anchor it is, and let it drag you down to the depths.
Just like your charts which you think the market is overdue for a crash. That demonstrates the past. The past.
For crying out loud, Amazon was a business that sold CDs. Or was it books? No one cares. That was ages ago. If international retail lags, the important thing is that the present - they have moved into lucrative alternative revenue streams. Lots of them.
There's only one question regarding Amazon, and that is, is it too late to get onto that train. It is not a question that they are a solid long term growth prospect.
Seattle,
Market history is full of glorious statements like yours, here is a historical record of how one played out. Not ancient history I might add.

AMZN is propped up by USPS subsidy, but growth prospects still exist.
I have divested, a bit before the market top, and am now mostly in commodities. I believe US equities could still rise 10% from here. Interest rates, fed, dollar...esp the dollar. As i said it is the “fall guy”.
MF I have converted from very nervous, to very excited at future prospects. I don’t even care if i miss out on another 10% rise.
classic examples of companies that failed to innovate, which is exactly what Amazon is a master of, and exactly what you fault them for.
“The tight relationship between corporate profit margins and the labor share is not nearly as well-recognized (or alternatively, is dismissed by imagining that the FAANG companies – Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Google – represent 100% of the economy, when in fact their combined revenues represent less than 3% of GDP).”

you lost me.
Perhaps this will help:

So multiple handle usage is equated with a lack of spine in your mind? You just made his point for him. Nice going, genius.
Seattle,
Or, more to the point, in 130 years of market history there has never been a company that has grown into a PE exceeding anywhere close to 100. I am not at my terminal but I assume AMZN is double that. That is what PEs do, it is called PE compression, where the P comes down to meet the E, not the other way around. Of course there is a small chance it can be that one out of 10,000s of stocks. Better chance than a lottery ticket. One is always better off investing in facts over the long run. My opinion of course.
