whats really interesting about the test is that its carbon isotope, and that technology gets updated every year and now that WADA has all these donations they can update their tests.
You gave a good cross sample. Gay was given the steroid supplement by his Atlanta doctor, if you connect what he said to what SI, I think, uncovered as the likely source. Gay did not know that this steroid was in it, according to him. He seems more credible to me than many others. He handled it far better than Powell, for instance.
if dhea is worthless why are so many people busted for taking it, track basketball, etc?
and if he got busted for an anabolic steroid, it wasn't dhea, was it?

ummm, powell got caught with a stimulant that was probably in a contaminated supplement. who would knowlngly take a stimulant in-competition when chances are you would get caught? we also know he had a new trainier who gave him the new supplement.
tyson, on the other hand was using steroids. and he knew what he was taking. tyson is 100 times worse than asafa.

Look at his muscularity, it's obvious he's on steroids.Along with Gatlin, Oliver,Merritt, yada, yada, yada.
That is not a good enough reason and all 3 have different body types. Are you telling me that Harry Aikines has been doped since the age of 13?/14? I highly doubt it. He has always been very muscular!!! Some athletes spend hours in the weight room. I'm more muscular than Gay and I don't dope. How do you explain all the other muscular athletes in the world who are more built than these elite athletes? They're doped too??

So your a$$ must be gigantic if you're more muscular than Tyson.

Whatever Tyson took, it was heavy, otherwise it wouldn't have remained under wraps for so long. He'd have been glad to say he ingested something in a supplement.
Actually quite the opposite. My source tells me that Gay failed a test for dhea I can tell you this for a fact. It has been kept "under wraps" for the opposite reason. The question has been why would an athlete of his caliber use such a basic substance to dope with all the money and resources available to him? And this is why they are trying to get to the bottom of this. I also heard that he continued to use this substance even after the USA championships. Why would he be using a banned substance in the heart of his season?? he can't be that stupid because it's very easily detectable. I'm not saying that Gay has not doped before, I suspect anyone who runs sub9.8 but I doubt that dhea would be his choice drug. VCB failed a test for a "minor" substance and yet her case has been kept "under wraps".
Gay is not as big and muscular as you make him out to be. Unless you're a 130lbs distance runner. I met him earlier this season and his legs are actually small which make his gluts look bigger than they are. He does have big shoulders and arms compared to his lower body but overall gay is not THAT big! there's nothing about his muscularity which screams doping that's all I'm arguing. Don't go googling up pictures of him running because everyone looks bigger when they run especially wearing tight body suits. lol

I have to agree (with no real evidence). I think he took an endorsement for a supplement and that supplement was tainted. It makes perfect sense that vendors would taint their wares to show results and it makes perfect sense that Gay would want to believe whatever that vendor told him in order sell more product. I don't know of that's the truth, but the story makes a lot of sense.

Same reason so many athletes use magnetic bracelets, ionizers, crystals, and reindeer antler spray. They're professional athletes, not scientists.
We need more antler spray in Track.
Maybe a possible sponsor deal with Walmart.
I'm speculating ignorance. I remember years ago seeing dhea in male-specific multivitamins found in health food stores. At the time, I didn't even know the difference between dha (omega-3) and dhea and thought they were the same thing. I'm glad a coworker at the time warned me about it (I told him I was looking at taking supplements) because he blamed his strangely abnormally thinning hair to taking it (he was trying it for completely non athletic reasons).Regardless, we still don't know what Gay took. Yes, wada considers dhea anabolic.

Most alarming of all is that athletes like Gay, VCB and others are reportedly testing positive, yet no additional information comes out after that.
Transparency would be the first step in restoring public confidence in the cleanliness of the sport.
The delay I can understand because of the wait for the B sample. However, the lack of transparency regarding Gay since the B sample result came out a month ago is fairly disappointing. For most everyone else, information is much easier to find.
From personal experience I don't think that dhea is "worthless". I've never done real steroids, but the two times I took dhea I did benefit. A bit. I would think that real steroids would be dramatic.
But if you are going to cheat, why take a banned substance that is easily detectable that gives you a limited benefit?
His body type does look like he is on roids in recent pics, not as much in earlier pics. thin skin...

It's not the size, it's the combination of size and cuts which is unusual in a runner. It's very hard to build muscle when one is running miles every day. Look at the difference in physiques in sprinters over the last 20 years, and it's not just the fact they are spending more time in the weight room. Some of them are starting to wear shirts to hide the bulging muscles because it's a dead giveaway.
It's not because steroids are more in use. I can't believe that anyone would think that steroids use has gone anywhere but down compared to the old days.

Of course. Why not take a drug that gets you suspended but does not improve your performance? Makes a ton of sense
