Let's not forget that Brian Sell ran 2:13:27 (fastest American all-time at the WC) to place 9th at the 2005 World Championships, Dave Scudamore was 13th in 2:18:41 in 1997; Steve Plasencia was 10th in 2:16:56 in 1995, Mark Plaatjes won GOLD in 1993 in 2:13:57, Steve Spence won BRONZE in 2:15:36 in 1993, and Ron Tabb ran 2:13:38 to place 18th in the 1983 World Championships.
