This even dumber than your nutrition posts and belief that finnish runners were as dominant in their era as the ken/eth combination is now! Not a single coach on the planet would agree with you that in the right paces race, Mo can't run 12:50
It's not dumb at all. Mo ran those times 2 years ago. 2 years is a long time. He hasn't run anything close to those times. He dodged Bekele at Prefontaine. He lost to Soi. He almost lost the WC 10k this week. His 1500m speed has improved greatly. All of this strengthens the possibility that he might not be in very good long distance shape anymore. Definitely not a dumb thing to suggest.

The statement "We haven't beat Mo with the old tactics . . ." presume there's some sort of collective interest in the field for Mo to be beaten. That isn't the case. The each have an individual interest to do the best they can. Say someone like Koech pushed the pace hard to 4000 meters. That might increase the chances that Mo gets beat, but it wouldn't increase Koech's chances in the race.

i said he woud be coupla secs shy of the 5k
i said he has no chance at the 10k one as i've seen nothing to convince me he's better than ~ 26'30
