Wow kenyans are just beginning to emerge also in field events.
This morning Yego threw 80.88m to qualify as 8th best

Last year in an interview he said to have learned the technique watching youtube videos.. He trains alone in Kenya, just give him a proper coach and he's going to rule the world champs

Stupid BBC announcers said he's not built like other Kenyans. Have they ever been? We're not all skinny, you know.

BBC announcers (at least Brandon Foster) continue to amaze with stupidity this meet. Kenyans come in every size and shape. Thinking they're all thin is like thinking all Brits are just because you've seen that their distance runners are.

Already happened as he learned the final ropes in Finland last year: "After two months of training at the IAAF-accredited centre in Kuortane, Finland, Yego returned to Kenya in April 2012 and threw a new record of 79.95 m."

At 175 cm? That would be something this world has never seen. But with regard to the decline of the javelin during the last 15 years, and the good "doctors" that Kenyans have in the remote mountains, well, having a Kenyan in the javelin final is obviously possible.

Considering there was no testing in Kenya until last year, it was possible to get big, even for a Kenyan.

Who cares about doping in Kenya and Ethiopia? At least, we have more diversity in athletics and some nations start to turn the physiology of some events upside down, which is just exciting. The lazy sports scientists will now have to get off their asses and resolve this mystery.

Nilotic groups are actually one of the least variable humans on the planet. Their body types range between extremely skinny and skinny. The taller they are, the lighter they are. (Bergmann's rule.)

I think most people's image of a Kenyan is those they see running. Basically, most peoples image of Kenyans is that of a Kalenjin and the they assume since the know one they, know the other 41 tribal groups!

This is a new Kenyan (former rugby player) recruit to the NFL.

First we came for the Steeplechase.

Then we came for the mile.

Then we came for the marathon....

Now, we are coming for the javelin.....

and we will not rest until we take the hammer and the pole vault.

ha ha ha!

okay, I am kidding.

The Rugby Sevens squad is arguably the most popular national team in Kenya (at least amongst city folk).

I ask this question at least half seriously, and congratulate you on your nation's great athletic successes: When are you coming to take the race walks? They seem to be the preserve of non Africans.
