No. The answer is Alan Webb.

I'd have to say German Fernandez. Yeah, Webb had his fanboys back in high school, but that was a different time. Not nearly as many people posted on here then. Plus, Webb had haters from the time he went to Michigan onward. He had a receding hairline, bulky build and horse-like face. His performances were inconsistent and he came off as a nut job. There was excitement about him, but also a lot of criticism. Nobody had man-crushes on Alan Webb.

When Fernandez went through high school, there was an influx of threads like I had never seen before. This place was like Dyestat for several years. I've never seen as many fanboys (A.J. Acosta had a lot too) before or since. A lot of latent homosexuality came out in those Fernandez posts.

Look at the number of threads about Webb TO THIS DAY. He runs a 13:40 and gets more threads about him than Galen Rupp on a good day.

P.S. I've been coming to running message boards since 1997, this one for more than a decade.

I gots plenty of favorites but nothing beats the sight of Asbel Kiprop in full flight.

I think Craig Mottram is pretty universally likeable. His "balls" comment, and the fact that he was able to put a hurting on Haile and a slew of Kenyans made him pretty tops, at least before he was injured. If somehow he pulled out a world-class time, the message boards would be loaded with "Buster MF Mottram" and the like
