Dang where is Rupp on that list? This would be the perfect race to get him back into his old world-beating shape. Once he's there, there isn't a 10k guy in this race that could touch him.

Rupp's running the mile.
Target should be Moorcroft's 7:32.xx British record.
Another weak field, so Farah can be victorious in front English spectators... where is Almirew, Koech at least Rupp....
Are you surprised that Rupp isn't running it? Doesn't that make four DL races for Farah and two for Rupp this season?
The old rupp-certified saladbar would say "duck...duck...lose."
The New RCS hopes that he is back at altitude sharpening.
Ritz has run 8:11 for 2 miles. What does that convert to for 3k? I wouldn't be surprised if he PR's. If Ritz gets a 3k PR here, he will be poised for a top 5 finish in Moscow. I think it's doable.
Bumbalough will also run well here.

Oh My God, he's running the mile. Why don't you pay attention?

I'd say 7:35 to 7:37.
Just goes to show how much better Rupp is with his 7:30i.

This.
I think on most conversions it's 7:37-38, and his PR is 7:39. The two mile is up in two parts on YouTube. His running style was fairly different then. I know he's not tapering for this race but might rest a bit. I'm just hoping they go out in sub 3:50.

I think Mo will win in 7:31ish in front of Bekele. I could see Bumbi nipping Ritz in 7:37, and Hill right behind. Mead is more strength oriented, so I say 7:42. True might be cooked. I respect his heavy racing schedule and think if he were fresh he'd beat Bumbi, Ritz, Hill, Mead, but he's raced so much that I think he'll come be somewhere around 7:40, which is not exactly shabby.
and how exactly does a PR for rits (sub 8:11 equivilent) mean he'll get top 5 in moscow? he may not get top 5 in this race alone!
He was 6th in 2009. A PR here would mean his speed is better than its ever been. So my logic was that he'd do better than 6th this year.
Why is Rupp not running?
Bumbi, Ritz, Mead, and True are not in Ritz's league, even at 3000 meters. May I suggest you take the fact that he ran 12:56 seriously? And take seriously that he is 5 seconds faster than those guys at 3000, and 8 if you allow for a conversion from two miles.

Oops--I meant Bumbi, HILL, Mead, and True.

ah, i see now. but who was running the 10k in 2009? i assume that people are faster now
Ritz's 2 mile best - what you're using for the converted time - is 8:11. Bumbalough ran 8:13 this winter. Ritz has been training for the 10000, Bumbalough and Hill for the 5000. I also wouldn't be surprised if Ritz beat all of them. Ritz ran 12:56, what, 4 years ago?
Predictions:
Farah 7:31
Bekele 7:35
Ritz 7:36
Levins 7:37
True 7:38
Mead 7:38

For Levins, anything faster than 7:41.6 is a bonus...
By running such a time, he would achieve his first "real" Canadian record (the indoor 2 miles is just not run frequently enough to be satisfying).
He's 2nd fastest Canadian ever at 5000 and 10000... Let's hope that he finally gets one...
