800M: Solomon's #1 so far. Nick seems to feed off of Duane's challenge. Not a total shocker if B.Johnson gets the Bronze for a monumental U.S. medal sweep.
1500M: Manzano's on. Manzano *knows* he's almost the best. Manzano wants to improve on his Silver. When Manzano wants something, he goes & gets it. With Centro's "tactical genius", that'll partly keep him off the medal stand. He's a genius at positioning for 3rd-4th in int'l races. When fit, he can physically beat anyone- but his DNF, whether mental or physical, was a possible red flag. Maybe it makes him mad.
3000M SC: Jager's getting better this year, despite not besting his AR yet. He's simply good enough to medal.
5000M: Lagat's fountain of youth... or A-sample EPO is kicking in again. Rupp has not been up to his own lofty standards. Monaco could definitely change my mind, but he seems half a step off, which is enough in both the 5K & 10K.
10000M: If I could have any runner medal, it'd be Ritz. At the OG's, he said losing a couple secs to the lead pack changed everything. So I expect him to hang super tough. He'll run a great race & at most several seconds of the Bronze Medalist, with a shot at Rupp. (Could change my mind if Rupp runs great at Monaco.)
Let me guess: Not predicting Gold for everyone makes me a hater. There's always someone in the crowd ready to pounce on that.
