Sum it up in a principled statement.

They shouldn't be.
Not dangerous when used correctly.
Widely available.
Time to legalise EVRYTHING
many people love believing fantasies.
...because we do not want our children using (or thinking they have to use) them in little league?
they shouldn't. What is the big deal? You're taking something to make you bigger, powerful, and stronger. You're trying to improve your performance. You drink water to keep hydrated so you don't pass out during a marathon, right?
same principle
oh wait, if you really need water, you're body will just make more of it...let's stop drinking water before races!! it enhances your performance too much!
Because idiots will eventually go over the line and result in many deaths.

because people would be confused when after they're legalized, no one is able to improve the world records
lol!

And it will result in many more people with serious health issues.
Most people will not have access to good doctors and safe practices.
But if they are no longer banned in sports, the increase in idiot usage goes way up.

So alcohol and fatty foods should be illegal too?
Obese people & alcoholics regularly go over the line with their fancies and send themselves to early graves.

moron
open drug use would FORCE every clean athlete to dope if they wanted to remain relevant.
learn something
High schoolers would have to dope to get scholarship money. College coaches would have to supply drugs to their athletes in order to field a competitive team. Pros would have to take the most extreme amounts of the most extreme drugs in order to find an edge.
And what for?
Why not opt to fight for a clean sport, in which people don't have to put their physical and mental well being on the line in order to explore their ability and talents (as opposed to the chemist's abilities and talents).
Finally, success built upon drugs will turn off fans and sponsors. Sponsors and federations know this, which is why they drop drugged athletes once the truth comes out.

Well that's dumb. Any food can make you fat. Doesn't have to be fatty.
Why should bikes be banned? They'd certainly make the Steeplechase more interesting.
I see a lot of how dangerous it is for athlete's health.
A principle has been established then = if it's DANGEROUS for your BODY, it should be banned
Ok, then to be consistent you have to be for bans on boxing. Boxing is REALLY DANGEROUS for your body - broken ribs, bruised kidneys, concussions....
I don't believe you when you say it's about health risks. Most people admire athletes who compete with injuries which could have long term effects, they call them amazing and tough.
I also don't think fans won't watch dirty athletes, because they already do. USATF knows that people are dirty, and they have no problem promoting the meets.
Bikes in the steeple chase? It's not a bike race.I get your point but that doesn't line up with the same parallel because a steepler on drugs is still using his body, and not a vehicle. I would like to see motor bike steeple though.
If you were a coach, what age would the kids be when you first started doping them?
Fair question. Suggestion?

No, its much harder to get fat with healthy food. And unhealthy food can easily kill you even if you dont get fat.

Nonsense, the ban makes it so that it is harder to consult a doctor.

Idiot
No it would not. Many clean athletes could still be relevant.
They cant be the best, but that is the case anyway even if you ban drugs.
If some drug could raise your IQ, everyone would be using it. Why should you not be allowed to boost your athletic performance?
