lol
And why would there be a "news conference"? Would that be SOP?

I just heard who it was, too. Of course it makes so much sense for me to withhold such a rumour to you because it's impossible to qualify the name by telling you how certain I am. No way you guys could understand a statement like "I only heard X name from someone. I cannot trust the source, and it is not verified yet."
Better just keep it to myself.
I'd say if Gay is doing it, he's not new to the game, and he prob understands what is safe to try. It's hard to see him being negligent

They go down eventually, whether during their career or later. Look at VCB.
Ok...let's see.
Darvis Patton: After grat indoors and a windy 9.75...he's injured
Walter Dix: Ran pre, but he's struggling with his fitness
Tyson Gay: Steve Mullings training partner and VCB worked with Brauman some years ago, I think.
Justin Gatlin: The usual suspect.
Charles Silmon: I doubt it 99.99%. He's not a big name or "a star" But for he, coming for TCU...hmmm...there's is my 0.01%
Ryan Bailey: Running 9.8' last year...this year he wasn't fit.
Aries Merritt: hmmm...Sprintgeezer says something like "guilty for his times"
Jason Richardson: Mark Block'sathlete...but I doubt it.
Spearmon??
it's definitely Gatlin

If the OP hadn't said it was a male, I'd say Tarmoh. Nikes final humiliation of her for not drinking all the Kool-Ade last summer at the trials.

What Kool-Ade? Big baby who didn't have the ovaries for a race-off.
Lagat didn't get off on a technicality. Positives aren't supposed to be announced before the b test has been conducted. The B is half the testing protocol, not some side note.
hell i am out of touch. i didn't even know veronica campbell brown tested positive.

News conference to come but a big US star has tested positive. I know who but not saying.
Since when are news conferences held for positive drug tests?

LOL! Yes. This would be exactly the same thing. News conferences are not held for drug positives.
Jeter. It has to be.

So why post? To get everyone to say, "Oh, please tell"? "I know something YOU don't know is a pretty childish game.
I would be so disappointed if it is Gay.
I can't say for sure this is BS, but I know 2 high ranking USATF personnel and they don't know anything about it.
I'd be willing to bet that the OP has a Jamaican IP. An American wouldn't say "major US sprinter positive".

I guess I should have expected such stupid or at least uninformed comments here. Have you bothered to investigate that case. One summary statement is that the B sample was handled appropriate.y, kept refrigerated etc. The A was left in the car during warm weather over an entire weekend (and probably lacks an appropriate chain-of-custody as well, but was not in the file that I recall). Sent to the lab at least 72 hours late in those conditions. The file is available somewhere on the web if you want to search. There was a longish piece by an anti-doping guy of some repute who savaged the treatment of the sample. The B sample did what you want it to do when the A is unreliable.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
