Included in the evening is an open 2 mile race, Devil Takes the Hindmost format, should be fun to see the stroller walking contingent picked off one by one

The ad is a little wrong. It says if either or both make the standard they go to Moscow. One of them must make an A. If both make a B, Hasay goes and Erdmann stays home.
Correct. And here are the other possible scenarios:

i really wish i was gonna be in town for this.
Ken Goe from the Oregonian today stated the race may be run on Sunday July 14 at a different location, due to the heat, among other reasons. I understand that statement is very much true from some reliable sources. Stay tuned! We should know tomorrow.
Wow.....this is soooo good for track. I think both will get it. Alberto never fails. What do you all think?
Both will get it....AlSal has too many tricks up his sleeve. Of course, the girls have to run the race. No magic here.
I don't know if I've ever heard of a race moved to an earlier day than the one scheduled because of weather expectations.
Why would it be hot? They could run it at 10 pm.
There are only 12 women in the world right now who have the "A" standard. That time is running crazy fast, particularly in a "staged" race.
Good Luck to both Jordan and Tara!
Love me some Hasay, but I wish she would eat something.
Agreed. Someone buy those girls a burger after they go for the standard.

Pretty sure that contingent won't be in this one.
Why do you have to be negative?

I think Alberto often fails, particularly at the marathon. Rupp seems to be his only success in 10,000. So this will be interesting.
Also interesting: Your post makes this more about the coach then the athletes. It shouldn't

Yes, tricks up the coach's sleeve should be the main determinant of WC team selection.

Umm, Ever hear of Kara Goucher or Mo Farah?

You really don't pay attention, do you?
It's pizza, baby.
I sincerely hope they both fail as this whole setup race sickens me and is against the spirit of the laws.

10,000: Flanagan, Hastings.Hasay would be added if she gets A or B. Erdmann would be added if she gets A, or if she gets B and Hasay gets A.If both are added, they bump Hastings from team. Goucher(I ADD:had B standard before trials,no chasing involved) could be added if neither Hasay nor Erdmann make team

Could they move the race to the Track City Classic in Eugene on Saturday or Sunday? That way they already have an existing meet with USATF certified officials in place. Plus, it would be in Eugene at Hayward.
