Other than potential injury, this DNF is a non-issue. Centro doesn't need to make any qualifying standards, he's in regardless. As I said before, there is no point in Centro running ANY 1500's prior to Moscow.

Sure there is a point to racing a good 1500 before Moscow.
Going nearly two months between races isn't a good way to go in sharp and ready.
Hopefully he gets in one, if not two races before World's.
Nope. He was looking around before stepping off the track because he didn't want to impede anyone who might be behind him. Also, when a hammy goes bad you don't just stop on a dime. You slow gradually to a stop as he did.
This was no CYA move. It was a pro with a twinge looking to fight another day.
It does not appear to be a pull.

Centro is fine watch the video. Before he drops out he is looking all around thereis no look of pInor surprise on his face. He starts to slow BEFORE he grabs his leg.
Looks like a case where he knew he didn't have it and drop out to not put any further strain. He might have felt a slight twinge but looks like he was trying to CYA for dropping out.
He reportedly limped through the press area so presumably something was hurting.
Alberto Salazar says there is no reason to worry about Matthew Centrowitz; "He is completely OK."

Always funny watching the Oregon Trash make excuses. As Salazar pointed out, it was most definitely NOT a pro move. He faked the whole thing, like a whiny brat high school freshman. There was NO indication of limping or a change in his stride while he was running, and he wasn't "looking around"--he looked to his right (where Salazar was?) twice.
There have been some other NCAA athletes in Diamond League events that appear to have been seriously jetlagged (Kimberlyn Duncan, Isiah Young, English Gardner) but they didn't up and quit because they were DFL.
"Letsrun Experts"?
Seriously?
That has to be the joke of the year.
One thing is for sure, you can never get a reasonable response related to anything Oregon out of A duck.
He pulled up because he got scared. It's pretty obvious. He wasn't hurt. If he was then he would be reported as okay. He faked the injury.

He's not a mature, professional runner in my opinion. Cocky and arrogant.
Your expert analysis is based on what?
Based upon both Centro's and Salazar's own words.
He just posted this on Facebook:
"Just a note to reassure everyone that I am fine and injury free, didn't feel good last night, a few days easy and I will be back for Monaco, London and Moscow."
Maybe he should have done an 800m shakeout race in France a few days before the race to get used to the jetlag like Manzano did/ always does.

Whoa, don't ever suggest that someone acted smarter than Salazar and one of his athletes. It's not possible. They are infallible.

1. Your emotional level is that of a middle school girl.
2. English Gardner ran for Oregon.
3. One race. No pattern here you dumb a*s.
Total weak move. Where are all the apologists and excuse makers now?

Looks like Fozz called it.

So it's not just Rupp but the whole NOP that has trouble finishing DL races? Say it ain't so!

He never faked anything. He said he wasn't feeling well and that it wasn't an injury. There WAS NO limp. Why would he be scared? If you think athletes of this level get "scared", then you know nothing about the sport. Unless you are inside his body, you don't know how crappy he was feeling. We're all human.
