He does run fast at US champs, WCs, and OGs.
As far as DL meets -- some great runs and some real stinkers

doubt they can afford him. From recent interviews it sounds like he thinks he's worth more than what's been offered. and what's been offered is surely more than what LRC would provide as charity.
That's it. Let's get beyond the idea that no one is willing to sponsor Leo. No one is willing to sponsor him at what he thinks he's worth
This again.
He's back and his negotiating position got better. Good for him. Nice guys do finish third.
Perhaps they can come up and he can go down and everybody will be happy.
Looking forward to him in Worlds, hope Centro is OK...
Maybe AlSal is just mad he is putting it to Centro..He apparently can run just as fast and does better under pressure than Centro, why not match the cash to go with it..

Manzano is definitely a master of running fast when it counts. If anyone needed more proof, this season is it. Racks up some Diamond League points with WC approaching.
Lopez looked pretty good too and got the A. Let's hope Centrowitz is not injured, because the bronze looks attainable for the Americans this year. (Though I think Kiprop and Kiplagat are still out of reach on a good day.)

Alberto has nothing to do with Manzano's contract.
You clearly don't know how things work.
I was jumping out of my seat watching the stream. He deserves every bit of his success, especially after all the criticism and adversity he's faced this year.

Just running out of reasons on why Leo doesn't get the same respect as Centro. Is it because he is Hispanic?? Lomong and Lagat have changed citizenship and are welcomed very well with good contracts. Is it because he held a small Mexican flag at the Olympics because he is from Mexican heritage?? The US is made of many people which immigrated here for a better life and still have pride of where they came from. Because he is not so consistent?? He has made every US team in the last 8 years running. He also became the first American to medal in the 1500m since Jim Ryun in 1968.
I just do not see why he cannot get a contract just like any major named athlete. That's all.
I'd love to see Leo win a medal, get offered an American and a Mexican flag, but just take the Stars and Stripes.
Unfortunately I believe he would take both flags.
He is the Meb of middle distance. He will not post a reply impressive PR. (Men's 10000 pr was better than his marathon pr).nor a good reason but plausible.
Leo has been convinced by his idiot agent of an astronomical contract number to sign. No shoe company will touch it. So he sits empty handed. Ego keeps him and agent from stepping down off of the pedestal and saying ok , we shot high cannot blame a guy for trying and sign a reasonable deal and move on.
Blame the agent , not the shoe company or athlete in this case.
Hmm , just a thought , maybe he can sue the agent for lost wages and miss representation causing a loss of his reputation and credibility.
I would really like to get to the bottom of Leo's sponsor "rumors"... It was my understanding he just couldn't negotiate a deal - lots of sponsors wanted him but he decided to hold out for a higher bid. Yet every thread people act like he is desperate for somebody, ANYBODY, to sponsor him. Does anyone know the actual truth?

BAAAHAHAHAHAHA!
I think this is final confirmation that A Duck and Saladbar really are one and the same.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Leo had made 6-7 international meets before 2012 but had never made the finals. Isn't that amazing?
And, he barely made the finals in the Olympics. Then...gets 2nd.
Now people say he runs fast as WCs and OGs regularly.

because manzano isn't an oregon runner.
correction, he made finals in 2009, placing 12th.
well, leo normally runs poorly under pressure.
2007 - out first round
2008 - semis
2009 - last in finals
2011 - out first round
2012 - 2nd
fyi Manzano could have made it out in 2011 but he pulled a hamstring in the race
