Presumably this is going to be Edris's bid to impress the selectors from the Ethiopian Federation. The reason this matters is that it is possible that Edris is the one who possesses the ability to defeat Farah at his own game. It will be fascinating to watch as Gebremeskel, Gebrhiwet and Alamirew are also on the start lists, as is Zersenay Tadesse and Diego Estrada, for that matter.
Edris may be able to kick with Farah, but his stamina has not been tested so much this year, so it will be interesting how much he can dip under 13 if the race unfolds in that manner, as Edris owns a kick that Gebrhiwet could only dream of. My guess is Farah does not want Edris on the Ethiopian team, although those other three are no joke, and Gebremeskel probably runs under 13 here, although it is possible that a fresh Edris in Moscow is as good or better at 5000m than a not quite fresh Gebremeskel.
Amos, Aman, Bosse and Brandon Johnson are entered in the 800m.
