I've always been a results-based person. I know it's a bad thing. I'm new to running. I am almost 8 weeks in.
I'm currently building my base. Right now I'm running 28 miles a week and I want to get that up to 40+ by the end of the summer. My question to you all is:
How much longer before I can start placing in the top 3 of local 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon races? I know I'm getting ahead of myself right now, but I feel like I'm in the gray when I do my training runs because I don't know what to expect or when to expect it. You know?
I hope you all don't interpret my question as disrespecting the process that everyone has to go through to get the results they desire. All I want is a time frame. Do any of you have a site of someone who has tracked their progress from day one? That'd be interesting to read. If not, I'll make an experiment of myself so that others who have the same question I do have a reference.
Thanks, folks. I'm eager to hear your responses.
