I mentioned this in another thread on Lopez scratching:
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=5250064
but it deserves it's own thread.
Wisconsin Coach Mick Bryne along with his athlete Maverick Darling and University of Texas athlete Joe Stilin held an impromptu press conference to express their displeasure at not being allowed in the 5000m despite so many athletes scratching. No explanation has come forth from USATF and Mick was given the impression earlier in the week if there were scratches more athletes would be added to the field. Video with Mick below. Some highlights: "USA Track and field are taking away their opportunity to compete. They (USATF) know they have confirmed scratches. They have six confirmed scratches right now, they told me they have none. Someone in USA Track and Field is not doing their job, it's that simple." Inconsistent entry procedures is a problem that still has not been fixed.
