Does it appear to anyone else he just gave it up and will save his energy for the 5,000? Smart choice.

He's a big guy - definitely was hurting with the heat out there tonight. Big guys generally don't do well in hot, humid races.
Ritz really hammered the last ~5 laps.
Can't be too devastated, he's never made a US team before and hasn't really proved that he deserves to be top 3 just yet. He's damn good though and will hopefully get in some good 5ks this summer.
I agree he hasn't proved it. You take some athletes seriously and some you shouldn't because their actions don't match their words.
He can still make the team in the 5000

It is true that True is a true competitor. He was a real contender and had the conditions been more favorable he may have had a better shot.
It's a huge credit to you guys that someone as good as True runs a pretty decent race and doesn't make the team.
US distance running is getting to the point where you can't be devastated if you don't make a world/olympic team.
I'd like to see some of those guys go to Europe and run some fast races- and make some money.
They can also compete on the roads if they want.
Try Utica and Peachtree.
True ran a good race but being that big with the heat is always going to be a disadvantage. I can't wait to see him in Europe banging elbows. I had him as a close fourth but realistically the race was over when ritz dropped the hammer.
