Great men's battle today. Princeton came up big for this meet, just not quite big enough. On the women's side, that Dartmouth crew is definitely a national-level team, and four of today's top five do not graduate. (Obviously the exception is a big one!)
I'm the Big Red Fan, so most of my attention was on Cornell. The men just buried themselves too deep early. They finished strong, but "ran out of course"--a good sign for the next (10k) race, I hope. Yeah, they're minus a bunch of top guys, yada, but they're better than what they showed today.
Meanwhile, the Big Red women may have had their best meet of the season so far. They're certainly not a lock for Nationals, but should do well in the regional meet, as McMahon and Kellner show continued progress from early-season illness/injury. Cornell graduates today's front four (though returns the next seven), so this season is really the end of an era there.
