I genuinely think Webb could run under 28:30 or whatever it takes to get into USA's in the 10k, but it's probably too late to set that up.

slowly but surely
Will Webb even make US champs? Must say I've been a Webb supporter all along hoping he can prove the doubters wrong, but I really think this guy is done. Sad to say and many of you have throught so for a long time, but this results he consistently putting up are so far off his best. He's very frustrating to be a fan of....can only imagine how frustrated he is. I'm hopeful he can put together at least one more great season (even race for that matter) before he hangs them up, but I won't be holding my breath.
His biggest mistake was screwing up being coached by Salazar.

Salazar did something funny to webb on purpose...
Such as what, taping a sign on Webb that read "Outkick me" or some other joke?
I am sure he could run under 29:00 for the 10k. I am still curious to see how he does this summer into fall. If the training takes, I am sure he will run a lot better. Saying he hasn't run well in a few years is not entirely accurate. I think Salazar had him running well and he ran ok last year. Without injury and a consisten training theme I am sure he can have 3-4 more producive years.
Webb looks so old and burned out.
He needs to get some rejuvenation treatment or something, like botanical sh*t.
I mean eat your fruits and veggies, get serious about your health, go Caribbean, Mexican, Italian whatever diet just get it and look better. All that coconut, avacado, and pesto/olive oil in their diets look how healthy and vibrant they look in their 50's and even 60's!!! Webb is 30 and looks like a 70 year old jewish man from Brooklyn.
Heck, and stop just eating pasta and carbs, start lifting like he used too, in a word, CARE about it.
I mean if you're going to be a pro, FRICKING ACT LIKE IT.
Wow the theme of this post might be one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this message board. Not many people on earth have cared more about their running than Webb does. Dude used to count every single step he took every single day...
Anyone have a results link?
I am the voice of reason. He runs 28 something or makes the US team then what. I can feel your frustration/hope all in one but if I were a betting man, I wouldn't put my own money on Webb. Webb is an atypical athlete who seems to struggle at things he should have perfected by this stage of his career. I can never figure out whether his problems are physical, mental, or both. Can you think of anyone who has had a similar weird career (outside of injuries)and came back to dominate?

maybe he should have cared more about his diet, or his body.
counting your steps is retarded. The only people who should count their steps are sprinters or jumpers. Dumb for distance runners, creates a lot of worry where there doesn't need to be any.

So could 20 other guys. Has it really just come down to getting into USAs in any event - even if he has zero chance of making the team?
Isn't that a world record for the mile?
Why aren't people making a bigger deal about this?
are you seriously that dumb? and there are many guys in America that can run a 3:42.88 that is why he was tenth in this race. to say he is back is a stretch

Incorrect.
Well Salazar had him at what 3:35/3:34? Look where is he now? 3:42? Come on, that's no reason to say he's back, get a grip that's slow!
maybe if he can keep finding races to compete in this summer in America (I doubt he'd go to Europe with those kinds of times) he'll at least get down to say 3:38/13:20 so he can go into next year with something.
The thing about Webb and Salazar is that Salazar had Webb beating Rupp at a 5k road race.
I don't think you can blame Salazar, he rehabilitated Webb, but it just wasn't sustained.
That said, I think he's too much of an aggressive runner for Salazar's style. I can't see him being into underwater treadmills and altitude tents. He fits better with a more traditional coach I think.
3:42 is probably what he was always capable of off PEDs.
he was a talent but one that was PED-enhanced when he ran a 3:46 mile and 3:53 HS mile. don't be delusional.
