I just had a drink in the lounge at a Four Seasons Hotel. I was wearing a 900 dollar suit and I felt like I was wearing overalls. Jesus.

And there are a lot more people in the world that spend a lot of money in order to look richer than they are. Big hat... no cattle.
Sam Walton wore overalls.
Your suit might be nicer than Warren Buffett's... maybe not.
Well, of course the "all hat no cattle" people exist in great numbers, but my point is that there really are a lot of genuinely rich people out there too. This was in an alpha world city, so it is not at all inconceivable that these people were making me look like a yokel without the slightest bit of financial strain...
Why call it an "alpha world city" instead of actually saying what city it is?

You just never know. I know a ton of people that make a sh*tload of money, and spend that same sh*tload of money. Sure not everyone wearing awesome suits at the Four Seasons in your Alpha city are like that, but there are a ton like that out there. They are not rich, because they never held on to much of it.
I'm so rich I ate at the 5 Seasons restaurant tonight.
Well, consider that even those who appear richer than they are due to spending habits are still very rich by the standards of almost any human who has ever lived. Even if you are spending everything you make, you can't stand around the bar at the Plaza Hotel in a Brioni suit if you make 50k/yr (assuming the rest of your lifestyle matches up and you didn't save 3 months salary for one crazy night)...and even that is considered quite comfortable by the standards of much of world history.
The funny thing is, I've become a aware of several older people in my community who are self made millionaires many times over. All they do is drive used beat up cars worth a few thousand dollars and worn out clothes you could buy at goodwill for $5.
btw, when I say "self made" I mean they didn't inherit money. They got their money in real estate and got a lot of government welfare over the years with policies that help prop up property values.
Maybe you should act more like this:
