The worst of it is not even that they claim it helps running. A little bit of that added to many a runner's regimen might actually help.
The worst is that so many crossfitters claim that any kind of endurance activity is not only bad for you, but that if you do XFIT!!!!!!!!!!!! in one of their shitty unconditioned warehouses you will be a BETTER runner than if you run or a BETTER cyclist than if you cycle. They actually preach for people to stop running if they want to be better runners - even for people trying to compete in marathons and ultras. How might one train for their upcoming marathon, according to XFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you ask? How about deadlifts and cleans, followed by handstands on the wall to failure.
