Has a rabbit ever outpaced the field and went on to win the race because the field didn't follow? Are they allowed to finish the race?

Any rabbit that wins a race would never get work again.
Happened in one of the major marathon races 3-5 years ago
Seems in the video posted earlier that they had a 1500m runner rabbit. Would it be better to have an 800 m runner rabbit as they theorhetically wouldn't have the stamina to finish strong? I brought up the question because I was watching the prefontaine meet from a few weeks ago and it looked like Matt Sherer could have finished with the gap he had. Looked like he dropped out with 200m to go. I know he rabbits a lot of races and it would probably be bad for his career to win but it really is the fields' fault for not following. Maybe if it happened more often races would be more honest.
