MI state meet 5k cross country records:
14:10 Dathan Ritzenhein
16:54 Megan Goethals
Goethals time was run on a very windy day when times were ~20-30 seconds slower than a "fast year" across the board. She honestly may have been capable of sub-16:30. This can be verified by simply browsing through the state meet results from the past decade or so.

I've seen both of these performances. Dathan was unreal that day. Goethals could have run much faster without the wind, the winning boys time was like 15:40 or something when it's usually around 15:15.. Two Michigan legends for sure.
Wasn't Dathan's 14:10 on a slow day as well? I seem to remember the next runner running like 15:50 instead of the usual 15:15 or so.

Absurd exercise
what's each states' individual state record? Does amber trotter still hold that national 5k xc record of 16:24?
kevin scab holds all the oklahoma xc records. he broke them all during his highschool career at mustang, 2003-2007.
What a stupid topic!
