Does he truly have her best interest at heart or Nike's?
Wouldn't it be nice for her parents to see her run in person.

what makes you think they don't get a chance to see her race in person?
I know for a fact that her father has been at most if not allof her races (including World Jrs, USATF Jr, and OT's in 2012)

The adidas people didn't want her. Turned her down.
Racing in NYC weather this time of year is challenging. If you've never been to Oregon then you wouldn't understand how perfect the conditions are for distance running. There is no humidity and temps in the 60s all the way until the start of July.
She's training up this week then taking a shot at 800 in Eugene and 5000 in Portland the following weekend.
Nike athlete. Running it would only bring attention to an adidas event.
...maybe she has homework/final projects before school wraps up.
She is a still a high school student, remember.
Adidas sponsors general practitioners? Are they better than non-sponsored docs?
Good one.

Yeah, I'm sure she wouldn't have any time to go to a meet 15 miles away from her house and do a quick race.
Why fly around the country to find great meets when there is one a half hour away from you? I guess I can't understand people that are wealthy enough to the point that money isn't an object.
Maybe she's grounded.
Mary, if you can sneak out with your parents seeing you,
take the 9:23 am train to 125th and change for the M35 towards LGA.
That will get you to the stadium around 10:08 am.
Cain family is Bronxville/affluent, not wealthy. Not close. Meet sponsor pays for travel expenses of athletes. Weather can stink in NY in May and it has been miserable the last two days. Saturday will be semi-miserable. Better for MC to take a week off from competition and be ready to smoke the 800 in Eugene. Once in while the Cain money canard appears on a LR thread. Getting tiresome. If Martha Stewart, who lives in Bedford, traipsed down to Bronxville she'd be slumming.
