A new blog from Alan's wife (Yes. Yes I do subscribe to Webb's wife's blog. Yes. Yes I do need to find better things to do with my life.) shows several good things out of Alan.

My biggest takeaway from this post is that Webb seems to be more level-headed than we've seen him in a long time. A lot of this seems to stem from now being a father, and I would imagine having a newborn child has caused him to mature a lot, which should only help his training.
Important quotes from the blog:
"It helps you realize that in the big picture no matter how much money you make or how fast you run doesn’t matter, and what does is experiencing and sharing your life with others."
"The new group has been a great transition and despite having less than ideal results from recent races, I have seen how Alan is really enjoying himself day in and day out."
"Now that he has been healthy the last few months and doing workouts with guys who are running great, I know it has to be only a matter of time before things start clicking along."
And finally: "Alan may be back for Pre"
As I said, it seems like he is in a relatively stable environment (especially by his standards) and is not too concerned with the early results (unlike 99% of letsrun.com). I would love to see him continue to race regularly over the next few months, including mixing it up with some big names at Pre. Even if he doesn't get back to the level of being among the very best in the world, I would love to see him prove a lot of people wrong and have a successful comeback.
