Hiya folks, i've been dogged with ITBS for the past 4 weeks after reaching 18 miles in my marathon training. I got 4 long runs complete (not much i know!) due to the fact that the ITBS always flared up
I've had prolonged PT and have begun light running again and there has been no real pain. Thankfully!
The thing is that the marathon i'm doing is in 12 days time now. Ive been training since January so feel fit enough to do it but I'm just very worried about my ITBS in the middle of the event!
The marathon I'm doing is a 'one-off' event in my home town that is being done to mark a historic year for the city. I always said i would never do a marathon but as i'm also doing it for a very important charity, and the other reasons, i just can't even entertain the idea of not doing it!
I've done countless HM and 10k. 3 runs at 18 and a 16 miler. the last long run was 4 weeks ago.
Should i adopt a run/walk strategy?
Any advice will be gratefully received as i'm at my wits end!
