I can't decide if a tornado is the best or worst way to be killed.

I think most tornado victims have a building fall on and crush them. It isn't the fvcking Wizard of Oz.

speaking as an uncle who just lost my nephew in moore yesterday, I think you're a piece of trash.

Maybe. But I heard on the news that a victim was a man in his bathtub covering up his wife. The wife I think was fine. The man was lifted up and blown into an adjacent field. He's actually alive and in critical condition in the hospital. I don't think that is too uncommon.

I doubt if anything falls on you for the simple fact that everything large and small is being torn up and flying. Plus people are getting into their basements to below all that stuff. But yes, your point stands that it is all the shrapnel flying around that likely kills you. But my question still stands.

maybe be wrong, i think i read somewhere that flying debris causing blunt force trauma and/or impaling you is the #1 cause of death...when a house essentially explodes, that makes for a lot of nasty debris flying around at 200+mph.

They had a medical person on TV today saying that most people die in tornadoes because of blunt force trauma.

who are you to say how one deals with grief? maybe he is not right there in the town to be able to do anything around the clock. He can still support/comfort his family and post on lets run. I don't think the original post was entirely necessary either- a lot of people lost their lives and he/she is talking about how it would be a cool way to die. Easy to say when you are not in the situation or have just had family members go through that horrific experience

Ugh. Look, I get it. You die by being hit by something. But I think its also true that its not uncommon for people who die to experience being sucked up in the whirlwind with everything else before being dealt the fatal blow. I'm just talking about the people who take good steps to prepare themselves for protection against flying objects yet still die. That is they burrow themselves deep in their basement and/or lie in a bathtub. Those are simple but extremely effective ways to protect yourself. It seems to me the only way you can die in those situations is if the whirlwind blows you out of your protective spot. Its that experience, which maybe lasts only a second or two that I'm getting at.

Probably being hung upside down, having your private parts cut off and being left to bleed to death is worse. But I'm open to counter-arguments.

Someone told me they saw a pencil stuck several inches into a tree trunk after a tornado. That blew my mind.

so what do you think a sharp object traveling at 250mph+ is going to do when it hits a tree? bounce off and fall harmlessly to the ground?
