Work is pushing lots of us towards tablets -- iPads -- and away from desktops or laptops. I need to be able to edit photos, have a lot of fine control over the cursor, do lots of typing, etc. I can't see using a tablet for this, even with attaching a keyboard. I can (and do) use a laptop, though I sometimes attach a mouse. A touch screen just isn't going to cut it for much of what I need.
My wife uses her iPad mostly as an entertainment device -- watch movies, read books, browse stuff online. She'll check her work e-mail but not much else that constitutes "work".
I know desktops are things of the past, but I would like to hang onto the laptop. I love having the regular keyboard and such.
Do people actually use an iPad for real work -- lots of typing, programming, etc -- or just for kicks?
