Hey everybody, I am an 800 runner in highschool. The problem with my last two races (or at least I think its a problem) is that I negative split. I ran 1:56 in both and the splits were:
59/57
60/56
With last 200 in about 26-27 for both.
My coach keeps telling me to go out faster and I tell myself in my mind to go out in 55-56 and hold on, but everytime I get in the race I come through the 400 slowly and get really frustrated because I felt like I was moving faster.
Is this a mental problem I am having or what should I do to help myself get out faster?
