NO
NO
Who?
RH couldn't beat Sara Hall at the mile.
Hmmm, more important question...
Could Ryan Hall beat Mary Cain at the Root Beer Mile?
Ladies & Gentlemen we have ourselves a footrace! Gather around, don't crowd. Watch your step. Tickets!!!!!!
Yes
No.
Ryan Hall's problem is that he runs all of his workouts at 4:50 pace. He can run that pace for a long time, but as soon as he dips under that pace he falls apart fast. His 4:46 pace at B2B was his redline.
Mile no, but 800 would be really close.
Didn't he run a road mile like right after Boston last year? If I recall he completely blew up and ran like 4:16.
you do know that ryan hall ran a 3:42 for 1500 in high school right, and a 13:16 for 5000 in college.
mary cain is such an exciting prospect, but lets not get carried away.

Yeah, but his last mile was a 4:16
I guess the only way to tell is if they both run a mile in a race/meet together?

Started at 4 flat pace and on the road
The Ryan Hall that went to Stanford? Yes, he would beat her by about 10-15 seconds.
The Ryan Hall that went to Eastern Illinois? No, he is fat and out if shape now. Even in college a 4:04 was close to his PR.
Either you're being sarcastic or you've never run B2B.
Yes. Even 3 weeks after a marathon cycle (not enough time to recover) he ran 4:17 on a slow road course with a :60 first quarter. He might be good for a 4:05 on a track right now.

HAHAHA...thank you Douglas for setting the children straight!
Seriously, my first thought was that Hall was a high school phenom and college 1500m runner. Sad that no one here seems to realize that, and cannot even do a simple Google search of his career prior to the marathon.
so it looks like we have a consensus: Hall would get his butt kicked any day of the week by Cain on the track.
The real question is could Mary Cain beat Usain Bolt in a 1200?
