Yes.
Wow. He looks really different. Hadn't seen a recent photo..
He looks pretty fit to me. He's on the cusp of running well as he's making it to about 4k on pace but dying significantly running 2:20 over his last 800.
He looks as lean as he did training under Al Sal. Looks like he has lost a lot of his upper body mass.
Classic. Before it was Alan Webb too big, now Alan Webb too skinny.
He doesn't have the same stride he used to have when he was fast. Getting injured, changing coaches etc. changed his stride for the worse.
I haven't thought much about it, but seeing that image made me realize I feel bad for him. To be the greatest US mid-distance runner, and then flame out, only to try (and fail) repeatedly to recapture that success, must really be a lot to deal with. I wonder what the other guys now on top of the US scene think of him and his struggles.
I wouldn't say "too skinny" here, but he does look like he has about 2% body fat in that photo.

Which would categorize him as 'overweight' by east African standards.
Does Webb look "too skinny," or are we all only expecting him to look "too big" for a distance runner? He isn't running the 15 any more, I think he looks good. I wonder if he will experience a high-mileage "bounce," where all his speed returns once he adjusts.
no, he's not skinny enough.
if people are asking if you are too skinny, you have weight to lose. if people are confident you are sick looking, too thin, and probably have an eating disorder, you are likely ready to tear it up. he's almost there, and as someone said, he's holding onto the business end of the race until about 1K to go, so he's close. 3-4 more pounds.

You must be a real hit at parties/with the ladies, huh?
It's very difficult to guess body fat by looking at someone. I'd say that's a bit unrealistic though.
I think it's good for the sport if people keep running for a long career. It's probably good for Webb to be competing in the 5k, regardless of the result.
It's his goofy haircut these days.

I'm pretty sure that isn't natural. Hair plugs or something. How can someone go from balding to an unruly mop so quickly?
I've lost some hair and then gained it back before. If the cause isn't genetics, but rather environmental stress, it's possible.
I'm glad he is out there running. Just because you were once world leading, it does not mean you should be unhappy staying fit, making money, and still running VERY fast in context.
Runners dwell on their PR's too much.

Wise comment. What are you doing on LRC?
I pointed this out in a previous thread. He has lost significant muscle mass. This is NOT good.
Wow he has slimmed down. He needed to for the 5k. Clearly his training has changed quite a bit. It is going to take him a year to adapt, give the guy a break. He needs to stay with Schumacher, not bail and head to yet another coach.
