The first scary thing is that she made a couple of serious tactical blunders (holding too far back, getting boxed on the rail). If she gains the confidence that she can hang in a fast pace and kick off that fast pace, and runs the race like Lagat, you wouldn't be asking if Mary won: THIS RACE WOULDN'T EVEN BE CLOSE.
The second scary thing is that Championship finals, with a slow first 800 and a blistering finish, are made to order for Mary.
I say put her in the New York DL and give the Africans some experience in how to deal with Mary (yes, I meant that to come out the way you read it).
