First off, the staffs ability to train an athlete is only about 25% of the challenge.. Bama's sprint coach may know the X and O's but on a personal level - he is a complete D bag. His guys rarely are able to do it when it counts. Watch and remember, they might score 10 to 15 points and NC's this year, and they have some talent..

I thought Waters took all of the coaches from A&M?

Waters is known to be a great recruiter. I think this is hard to dispute.
He also hired Dick Booth. So that is a pretty big "get".
It does take time and they definitely seem more competitive than they were prior to Waters taking the job.

He is known for recruiting at all of his previous stops. He is the guy getting things done behind the scenes.
I thought everyone knew this. There is a reason he doesn't have a problem getting jobs.

Our state's greatest sprinter of all time had the choice to go to any DI school in the country. He went to Alabama thinking the coaching staff was really on the rise, and amazingly is running slower in college than in high school. Word on the street here is that the coach is a complete hot head -- a Mike Rice, Bob Knight, Woody Hayes prototype who mistakes violent & vulgar verbal tirades for leadership. There is also a sense amongst some of the athletes that his only focus is on winning, and no ability to connect with the athletes from a personal perspective which has led to mistrust and disillusion with some of his athletes.
Texas HS Coach also know as Waters brother - I'm sure christmas dinner conversations have convinced you that he does it all, but what I'm trying to understand is why Texas a&m is still able to recruit without Waters there. You are a good loyal brother though...
Take the time to read the NCAA Infractions findings from 2005 on Texas Christian University. You will see that a certain head coach at Bama has his name all over the report...
I never like the guy. He has a really really poor communication skills and he is over-controlling. Treat his athletes like they are in high school

Waters is a lame duck. 2 months ago Bama changed AD's and the guy who hired him is now dead. So is Waters with the way things are spiraling in Tuscaloosa as athlete after athlete files complaints with the new AD and his staff.
Kane is a jerk, Tribble is an errand boy. Pate, Booth and Reynolds are the only ones worth a ****. You're right, he's got it coming. Still cheating only he thinks he's doing it smarter now. But people know. Interesting how many in Tloosa do not know of his past, as well as in the ath. dept. Those higher admin. in athletics are completely embarrassed at his hire now that they have been made aware. He doesn't deserve to be working with anyone. The kids, recruits or current athletes or parents will do him in.
